Dr. Contro, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.

Dr. Contro has been practicing Obstetrics, Gynecology and Infertility in Los Gatos, California for over 35 years. Dr. Contro, born and raised in Santa Clara Valley, attended the University of Santa Clara, graduating at the top of his class, Summa Cum Laude. He won scholarships to numerous medical schools and was graduated in the top 5 in a class of over 100 from the University of California at Irvine. He was awarded membership in the exclusive Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honor society and received numerous honoring awards. He chose to do his specialty training at Stanford University Medical School in Obstetrics and Gynecology scoring upon graduation in the 99+ percentile. He is currently a diplomat of the American Board of Obstetric and Gynecology, a fellow of the American college of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American Fertility Society. His passion is to provide the highest quality of medical care and to build families even in the most challenging of circumstances. His hobbies include training in martial arts where he holds black belts in Shotokan Karate and in Jiu Jitsu.

Dr. Mark Fierro, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.
Dr. Mark A. Fierro is a board-certified Ob/Gyn physician with over 15 years of experience. Dr. Fierro was born and raised in Oakland, CA. He attended Santa Clara University, double majoring in Biology and Psychology. Dr. Fierro also earned his EMT license taking night classes while in college, which allowed him to gain valuable medical experience to set the foundation for his medical career. He then attended St. Louis University where he earned his medical degree and successfully completed his 4-year residency in Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women’s Health. In 2013, Dr. Fierro returned to the Bay Area and joined Dr. Contro in private practice. In addition to his excellent clinical care, Dr. Fierro has held numerous leadership positions within the medical community, serving as mentor for PA and NP students, as well as for aspiring medical students. He is currently the Chair of the Ob/Gyn Department at Good Samaritan Hospital, and he has been a speaker for pharmaceutical companies specializing in medications for the treatment of dyspareunia associated with vulvar vaginal atrophy in menopause and in the area of endometriosis. Dr. Fierro takes pride in getting to know his patients and helping them with all of their medical needs throughout all the phases of a woman’s life: from adolescence to family planning to post-menopause concerns. He believes in a comprehensive and personalized healthcare approach where together the patient and physician may optimize one’s healthcare. Dr. Fierro has a special interest in comprehensive fertility evaluation and treatment, including looking into the immune-related mechanism of natural killer cells and providing his patients with the option of in-office intrauterine insemination. In addition, Dr. Fierro also has a special interest in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of endometriosis, as well as in performing minimally-invasive surgical procedures, including total laparoscopic hysterectomy. When out of the office and the operating room, Dr. Fierro enjoys coaching his 4 kids in basketball and baseball, cheering on his daughter at her dance competitions and recitals, and relaxing at the beach.

Ami Patel, PA-C

Ami Patel is a physician assistant who graduated from Touro University with her masters in science in physician assistant studies. Ami has been a vital addition to our practice for over a decade. She specializes in the full spectrum of women’s healthcare, such as annual examinations, PAP smears, IUD placements, IUI procedures, and acute treatment of patient symptoms.

Brianne Ross, FNP-C

Brianne “Bri” Ross is a family nurse practitioner who graduated with her MSN, FNP from Georgetown University in 2021. Her experience has been focused within the internal medicine and women’s health specialties. Since starting with our office, Bri has helped develop a portion of our fertility services, with the main focus on being intralipid infusions. She also sees patients for their daily needs, such as annual examinations, PAP smears, or other needs.

Danielle, office manager

Danielle Contro is our office manager with over five years of experience in office management and over ten years focused in patient services. She helps ensure our office runs smoothly and is always willing to help patients and their families with their needs.

Luz, MA

Luz is our medical assistant with over two decades of experience within the obstetrics, gynecology, and women’s health specialties. Her duties focus on assistance during examinations or procedures, taking medical histories, collecting and preparing laboratory orders, and supporting patients and their families with their needs.

Clara, MA

Clara is our medical assistant and front desk liaison with over two decades of experience focusing on women’s health, obstetrics, gynecology, and internal medicine. Clara specializes in assistance during examinations and procedures, as well as patient relations and customer service.
